Geoff Clear, Chair, Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) Board of Directors, is pleased to announce four appointments to the organization’s board.
New Board Members: Mark R. Bridwell, Christine Bryan, Karen L. Hackett, Orsula V. Knowlton
Mark R. Bridwell is Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, for Rayonier, Inc.
He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and Authorized House Counsel by the Florida Bar. Mark served on the Family Support Services (FSS) of North Florida Inc. Board of Directors for the past six years, three as Board Chair. He and his wife, Susan, have six children – all of whom are adopted and three of whom were adopted from foster care. Prior to his board service at FSS, he volunteered at the Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta, and served on the board of a local athletic association.
Christina Bryan is a retired business owner in Fernandina Beach and Jacksonville. She serves as Chairman of the Development Board of Baptist Medical Center Nassau and is on the Board of the Baptist Health Foundation. Chris is a past Chairman and past Board member of Baptist Nassau. She is a Charter Member and Past President of the McArthur YMCA and presently a Board Trustee of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast. Chris is also Past President of the Gator Boosters and remains on the Gator Booster Board of Directors at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Karen L. Hackett, LFACHE, FASAE, CAE (Ret.), is the retired Chief Executive Officer of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (Academy) and the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (Association), collectively referred to as AAOS. Karen is board certified in healthcare management and a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She is a member of the Board of Directors for Baptist Medical Center Nassau and also volunteers at the Medical Center. In addition, Karen serves on the University of Central Florida’s College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board.
Orsula V. Knowlton, PharmD, MBA, is co-founder and President of Tabula Rasa HealthCare, Inc., a medication safety technology and services organization started in 2009. She also serves as TRHC’s Chief Marketing/New Business Development Officer. Dr. Knowlton is a Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association and the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and has authored numerous publications focused on medication safety and personalized medication management. She has also served on several not-for-profit boards for the past 10 years, including Samaritan Hospice and HealthCare in New Jersey.
Founded in 1974 by local citizens, Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of older adults through services and compassionate care designed to improve the health, independence and economic security of all Nassau County seniors and their families.
