"Influencing the Future" - First annual fundraiser to benefit young women of influence

NASSAU COUNTY, FL Feb. 27, 2022 -- Women of Influence(WOI) is a student club established at West Nassau High School (WMHS). The American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), Eight Flags Charter Chapter, has been working to help women succeed in Nassau County for more than fifty-two years. Together, they have partnered to provide young women with more opportunities for success through leadership mentorship. Now, they are planning their First Annual Influencing the Future Dinner/Auction Fundraiser to offer two college scholarships for deserving young women who are graduating from West Nassau High School this spring.

The fundraiser Dinner and live auction is set for Friday, March 25, 2022, at Wildlight Elementary School, 50 Curiosity Ave, Yulee, FL 32097. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The dinner and program start at 6 p.m. The event features a delicious dinner, entertainment, and a live auction; the public can buy tickets for $35 each at www.abwaeightflags.org

"Being able to work with such influential women in the community has been an incredible experience full of knowledge, leadership and mentorship. They have helped us realize that we are all capable of anything and everything, “ says Ana Rodriguez, WNHS student and Co-chair of the fundraiser.

“ I am blown away by the incredible partnership between the women of ABWA and our students of WOI. These young women are mentored by the best of the best, preparing them for advanced education, careers, and leadership roles. I can’t thank the women of ABWA enough for pouring encouragement, opportunity, and guidance into the hearts and minds of our students,” says Janet Hild, WNHS Faculty Sponsor.

“We were honored when this group of talented and industrious young women reached out to us in May of 2021,” said, Lillie Rogers, ABWA Eight Flags chapter president.’
