Help Needed, Help Appears -- That's Community

Occasionally you get to witness an act of true community.

This started on April 26 when the Observer ran a short piece on the need at Americas Youth for someone to install 1,200 square feet of flooring that had been donated to them.

With his annual summer camp rapidly approaching, John Gilbert, the director of the organization, was concerned that the building would not be ready in time for the daily influx of the underserved children of our community.

But in reply to the call for help, Shawn Randolf of Randolf Remodeling and his son stepped right up to volunteer for the task.

With his normal heavy workload, Shawn doesn’t have much time to take on regular volunteer work, but he heard of a need in our community and promptly stepped in to fill it. A grateful John Gilbert called it “a God thing.”

A well-earned thanks goes out to Shawn and his crew from the community of people who support the Americas Youth program.

Their generosity in giving of time and talent will have a continuing positive impact on the Americas Youth program.
