Fernandina Main Street announces reduction in newspaper boxes

News boxes recently removed from Centre Street Fernandina.

Thanks to a partnership between Newsleader Publisher, Mr. Foy Maloy and the Main Street program, the City has passed an ordinance standardizing newspaper boxes downtown. This has resulted in our ability to remove boxes which are not standard in design or color.

Mr. Maloy has also reduced the number of Newsleader boxes downtown. This frees up our sidewalks for easier and safer walking and/or more bench or flower space.
