Dementia Caregivers Workshops

Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) is at the forefront of offering caregiving services to support the rapidly rising number of seniors impacted by dementia. We encourage current caregivers and caregivers-to-be to register for our upcoming offerings, held at the Janice Ancrum Senior Life Center, 1901 Island Walk Way, Fernandina Beach.

  • Caregiving Stress-Buster Forum, starts Wednesday, Sept. 28 (6 sessions), 1-2:30 p.m., FREE

Helps caregivers practice stress-reduction techniques; reduce anger, hostility and anxiety; find support from other caregivers; and improve quality of life.

  • Dealing With Dementia Workshop, Thursday, Nov. 17, 12:30-4:30 p.m., $40 for course materials

As a family caregiver, learn how to effectively deal with dementia-related behaviors, and learn how to take care of yourself. Course fee includes the 300+ page Dealing With Dementia Guide. The workshop is offered in partnership with the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving. Please register by Nov. 1.
