In announcing the selection, Martin said, “In October 1999, Ms. Cathy Sabattini, a 5‐year Navy veteran, began working as a part‐time Staff Assistant in the City Clerk’s Office. In October 2015, she became a full‐time employee and in October 2016, Ms. Sabattini transferred from the City Clerk’s Office to fill the position of the Administrative Coordinator in the Maintenance Department.

“In her spare time, Ms. Sabattini is passionate about the Boy Scouts – she thoroughly enjoys hiking, camping, and kayaking trips (to name a few Boy Scout activities). Ms. Sabattini lives by their slogan, “Do a good turn daily,” and as such, eagerly participates in projects that help our hometown and the people who live here.

“Ms. Sabattini is helpful and kind – always willing to assist other employees in any way that she can.”

In accepting her award, Sabattini said, “I am part of a team, we all work together. I love what I do!”

All city Department Directors are able to submit nominations for Employee of the Year. The only requirement is that the person nominated is in a department other than their own.
