JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Winning Amelia is the title of a one-hour program celebrating the 2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. It was awarded the Emmy for Best Event Coverage from the Suncoast Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The program is also a previous winner of the Communicator Award for Best Documentary.

Produced by Gemstone Media of Jacksonville, Florida, the program includes stories of a rare Mercedes barn find, how race teams “bent” the rules, the Tucker automobile, and cars of the rock stars and their guitars. Originally broadcast on WJXT-TV in 2019, the program later aired nationally on NBCSN in 2020.

The sequel, Driving Amelia, celebrates 25 years of the power and passion that fuel The Amelia. That program was broadcast on WJXT earlier this month and will be seen nationally on January 5, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. It includes features about racing legends, honoree Roger Penske, and lookbacks at some of the great stories and characters from 25 years of one of the world’s premier automotive events.
