When Bryan Rew, an island visitor for the past 15 to 20 years, tried to order a Papa John’s Pizza and discovered there was not one on the island, he went into action.  Rew, a pizza lover and clearly a fan of the Papa John’s brand thought, “Why not enjoy the nice quiet island, love life, and make a living right here?”

According to Rew, he was warmly received by employees in the City of Fernandina Beach Community Development Department, in particular Building Official Robert Sasser who helped “navigate the waters,” and made useful suggestions. Within two months of signing the contract, the business was opened on schedule.

Rew’s Fernandina location will provide pick up, and delivery service to your home or business.  For those who wish,  let the staff know and they will take your pick up order straight to your car.

Papa John’s biggest selling pizza is “The Works,” followed by “John’s Favorite,” named after John Snyder founder of the chain. Pizza is not the only thing on the menu, chicken wings and chicken strips, are also available.

On November 29, the Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at Papa John’s South 14th Street location next to Carmike Cinemas Island 7 on S. 14th Street. An enthusiastic Rew, a member of the Chamber, addressed the crowd and gave thanks to the Chamber, the City and the many people who helped him along the way.
