The Nassau County Volunteer Center’s Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) through its 15th annual G.O.K.I.D.S. (Giving Our Kids Important Daily Supplies) project is collecting school supplies and donations for local students who need them the most. Monetary donations will be used to purchase supplies and will be distributed among all area public schools by principals. Over the last fourteen years, through the G.O K.I.D.S projects, over $150,000 worth of donations and supplies has reached Nassau County’s public schools and teachers.

The project will run from July 6-August 5, 2015. Distribution to the schools will take place on August 10, 2015. The most needed supplies include pencils, pens, pocket folders, wide-ruled notebook paper or spiral notebooks, crayons, glue sticks, clear or mesh backpacks (no wheels), dry-erase markers, and white or color copy paper, Kleenex, paper towels and wipe ups. Gift cards are also welcome.

Those who wish to donate school supplies may drop off donations at any of the following locations: Omni Amelia Island Plantation (Associate Services), Century 21/John T. Ferreira Insurance,500 Centre Street, City of Fernandina Beach – (City Hall and Lime Street Offices), Nassau County Volunteer Center, (1303 Jasmine Street – Ste.A), Amelia Dental Group (Citrona Drive), First Coast Community Bank(14TH St. and Target Shopping Center, Yulee), First Federal Bank of Florida (Sadler Rd. & Chester Rd./AIA, Yulee), VyStar Credit Union on 14th Street in Fernandina Beach and in Callahan, CBC National Bank (14th Street), Hilliard Town Hall (15859 W. CR108), Hilliard Recreation Center (37516 Oxford Street), Hilliard Library (15821 W. County Road 108), Hilliard Pharmacy (551770 US Highway 1), and Hilliard Winn-Dixie (541494 US Highway 1). The drive is also supported by Rayonier Inc., Rayonier Advanced Materials and RockTenn.
