The Purple Dove Resale Store, located at 474311 E. SR 200, Fernandina Beach, Florida, would like to announce the appointment of a new Store Manager, Carrie Pokines.

Carrie has been with the Purple Dove as a Sales Associate for over a year and a half before taking on her new role with the organization.

The Purple Dove belongs to the Micah’s Place, Inc. family of services, which provide the only Certified Domestic Violence Center serving Nassau County, among their free and confidential services.

When domestic violence victims show up at our door, they come with very little, other than their children and their lives. Often they come to us emotionally or physically bruised, their children craving safety, stability and peace. The Purple Dove & Micah’s Place provide services that will help survivors through each step of their journey to recovery.

Micah’s Place provides food, shelter and advocacy, as well as assisting with employment, housing and support groups which encourage empowerment.

The Purple Dove provides things like clothing, household items and other items to reestablish a safe life, all at no cost to them. Donated items not needed by program participants are sold with proceeds supporting the Micah’s Place Programs. Items we are unable to use such a torn of stained items are sent to a second charity who make good use of them.
Carrie and the Purple Dove Team of Sales Associates and Volunteers, are working to bring new services and programs to the store.

One of the first exciting changes will be a revamping of the store itself. As a result the store will be closed over the dates of July 29, 30, 31, 2015 – and reopening on Saturday, August 1, 2015 @ 9 am.

We are located at 474311 E. SR 200, Fernandina Beach, Florida. We are normally open Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm. Saturday 9am – 5pm. Closed Sunday.

We take tax deductable donations by drop off, and happy to pick up larger items by appointment. During the store will still accept drop off donations at the front door.

According to Marianna McIntyre, Micah’s Place Program Director, “We are always in need of donations and volunteers. Thank you for your support.”  For more information, call 904-261-5227.
