St. Peter’s Rector, Fr. Stephen Mazingo presenting the haircut challenge donation to Michele VandenBossche, Barnabas Health Services Manager.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Barnabas Center is on the front line of responding to the needs of individuals and families in crisis. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church supported Barnabas Center and Salvation Army Hope House by hosting its first ever “Corona Haircut Fundraising Challenge.”

The challenge took place between April 30th and May 7th. The community had a choice to see the St. Peter’s Rector, Fr. Stephen Mazingo or the Associate Rector, Fr. Brian Alberti, give themselves a self-haircut! Barnabas Center received donations for Stephen Mazingo and Salvation Army Hope House received donations for Brian Alberti. Whichever organization raised the most won a Corona Haircut for the corresponding clergy person.

Throughout this challenge, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church raised $2,100 for Barnabas Center, which will be used toward our COVID-19 response efforts. Barnabas extends its thanks to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and other community partners for their support during these uncertain times.
