Neither wind nor cold could deter determined Fernandina Beach shoppers from hunting bargains on Centre Street during the annual post-Thanksgiving Friday shopping day. Pajama-clad shoppers received special discounts if they shopped early. But early or late, shoppers enjoyed the holiday spirit, the friendly merchants and sales associates, not to mention the bargains that highlighted each shop.

One of the more popular attractions this season was a Christmas backdrop for seasonal photos of family and friends.  Located in the pocket park across Centre Street from Amelia Island Coffee,  it proved to be a very popular draw.  Groups of visitors awaited their turn to take a shot that might end up as this year’s Christmas card.
