Nassau County has finally hired an Assistant County Attorney she will begin work on August 9, 2021.

Her name is Denise May and she was most recently associated with the law firm of Marks Gray of Jacksonville, having been hired as an associate there in 2018. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of St. Augustine.

In a conversation with County Attorney Michael Mullin, he noted that she was #1 on the list two years ago when the search [for an Assistant County Attorney] began. He went on to say “she is extremely bright, has a good personality and will be a great addition to the office.”

Ms. May received her B.S. in Computer Networking Technology at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2004 and after a successful career in IT, went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law graduating cum laude in 2013.

While Mr. Mullin stated that the Department of Human Resources could give the exact dollar figure, he estimated her salary to be $155,000.
