Nassau County engineer elected to serve as chair of North Florida TPO Technical Coordinating Committee

County Engineer, Robert Companion, was recently elected to serve as the Chairman of the Technical Coordinating Committee, a subcommittee of the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO).

The Technical Coordinating Committee consists of representatives from Nassau, Duval, Clay and St. Johns Counties whom all have expertise in planning, engineering, and related fields. The Committee assists the TPO in effectively managing a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive planning process to develop plans and programs which are consistent with the local governments within the TPO boundaries. Examples include coordinated efforts to address transportation projects, bridge projects, port improvements, air quality concerns, and more.

Mr. Companion stated, “I have been serving on the TCC for the past year, along side with many professionals throughout the region. I am excited about this opportunity to serve as Chairman and was humbled to be appointed unanimously by the Committee”.

The Technical Coordinating Committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month (with the exception of January and July) at 10:00 a.m. in the North Florida TPO Board Room located at 980 North Jefferson Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209.
