NCCOA Offers FREE Caregiver Stress-Busting Program

Do you provide care for a loved one with a chronic illness or dementia? If so, you are not alone!

Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) is hosting The Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers™, a FREE series of 9 sessions proven to help caregivers reduce stress, anger/hostility and anxiety, as well as improve quality of life. The program is supported by a grant from The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, made possible from funds provided by the I.R. Bowen and Katherine H. Bowen Fund and the Robert T. and Carol R. Shircliff Fund.

The Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers™ (9 sessions) takes place from 10:00 to 11:30, November 12, 19; December 3, 10, 17; and January 7, 14, 21, 28, 2022, at the Janice Ancrum Senior Life Center, 1901 Island Walk Way in Fernandina Beach. To register, contact NCCOA at 904-261-0701. Enrollment is limited so call soon to reserve your spot.

Caregiver Stress-Busting Programs are developed by UT Health-San Antonio through research from the National Institutes of Health and financial support from The WellMed Charitable Foundation.

“This partnership focuses on the caregiving arena, creating a comprehensive offering of best practices,” said NCCOA President & CEO Janice Ancrum. “With support from The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, we are able to provide this critical support to caregivers in our community. They are the unsung heroes who dedicate a portion of their lives to family members with a chronic illness or dementia. This evidence-based program helps caregivers face challenges with positive thinking, healthy living and a path to wellness.”
