Men’s Newcomers Club Resumes Activities

A schedule of luncheon meetings has been created as the Men’s Newcomers Club returns from its summer hiatus.

Foar From Home, a group of men who made a 51-day crossing of the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness of veteran issues, will be guest speakers at the Sept. 15 luncheon at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club.  Other luncheon speakers planned are: October, Regina Duncan, president of the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce; November, Eric Schmidt from West Rock;  December, Dr Alan Bliss, CEO of The Jacksonville Historical Society;  January, Thea Seagraves, Amelia Island Museum of History, who will present the history of African-Americans on Amelia Island.

Details of the events can be found at the club website, MNC-Amelia.org

The MNC’s focus is to help newcomers to the Amelia Island area become acclimated and develop new friendships.  Many members have stayed on to enjoy the benefits the club offers and to provide guidance to newcomers. As a result, the club has a mix of old-timers and new.
