Fernandina Beach Market Place in full swing.

Memorial Day Weekend at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is the perfect opportunity to show off our downtown historic district while shopping in an open-air farmers market. Come meet the farmers of Boatright Farms and check out their farm fresh corn-on-the-cob, onions, squash and field peas. Kings Kountry Produce are farmers from Starke, Florida, who are well-known for the juicy strawberries Tommy King grows on his farm. You will also find watermelon, cauliflower, peaches, and more. Find Freddie Bacon in the Bacon’s Select Produce booth and let him tell you all about their hydroponic farm and the new sunflower bouquets his wife, Heather, grows.

Sandra and Danny Durrence also set up a booth and they own JD Beef, a cattle ranch in south Georgia. Whether you are looking for burgers, roasts, or steaks for your Memorial Day cookout, they bring beautiful cuts of beef that are grass fed, with no hormones, no antibiotics and are never fed animal by-products. We also have fishermen at our farmer’s market. Eddie Chesser of Chesser Seafood brings wild caught shrimp caught fresh in the waters of NE Florida that are perfect as peel and eat, in a scampi or on a skewer. If you prefer a nice Alaskan salmon or scallops, stop by the Upstream Seafood tent and see what treasure they have hidden in their cooler.

Do you have a vegan, or gluten-free member of the family? In addition to traditional bakers like Great Harvest and Ferra Bakeries, we also have Vegan Amelia and Something Good specialty bakers. You’ll find dip mixes, rubs, granola, fresh dried fruits, dog treats, fresh squeezed lemonade, flavored salts, sauces, dressings, and marineras. We have fresh guacamole that is hand-made on site, and anything you can image made with pecans is sold by the Gana Pecan Farm booth. Joanna Jorden mixes a tasty elderberry syrup for what ails your soul, and Sherri Osbourne mixes popular lotions, sugar scrubs and goat milk soaps for your body. The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market truly has something for everyone!

The farmers market is located on North Seventh Street in historic, downtown Fernandina, between Centre and Alachua Streets. The Market Place is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., every Saturday of the year, rain or shine. Well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome, too.
