The U.S. Attorney’s office, middle district of Florida, reports that Chief U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan has sentenced Shawn Andrew Wilson of Fernandina Beach to seven years and eight months in federal prison for possessing with the intent to distribute and for violating the conditions of his supervised release. Wilson had pleaded guilty on Dec. 16, 2021.
Wilson was arrested Sept. 2, 2021, when he fled on his motorcycle after a Jacksonville police officer flagged him for a traffic stop. Then he crashed his motorcycle. Officers arrested him and found 114 grams of methamphetamine in the lining of his jacket.
Wilson committed this offense while serving a term of supervised release imposed after his conviction for a previous federal firearms offense.
