Local man charged with fraudulent use of credit card

The Fernandina Beach Police Department arrested a local man, Jason King, thirty-four years of age, for fraudulent use of a credit card.

On November 7th the victim was shopping at the island Walmart and inadvertently left her purse at the check-out register. When the victim realized that she was missing her purse the following day she began checking her bank accounts online. The victim learned that all three of her credit cards were used without her authorization.

Detective Tracy Hamilton reviewed hours of video from local retail establishments where the credit cards had been used. Detective Hamilton was able to positively identify King as the suspect.

King was arrested on November 9th and brought to the police station where he confessed to knowingly using the stolen credit cards. King is also suspected in a string of thefts and car burglaries. Charges are pending on those cases. King is being held at the Nassau County Jail under a “no bond” warrant.
