Several things are moving along on the greenway project. First, the trucks that you may have seen in the greenway just south of Jasmine are the vehicles for the personnel doing the data point updates for soil salinity, moisture levels, and any other measurables that are being observed. This allows a responsive plan to make sure that the weather does not make changes that will negate the current proposed restoration operations.
As for the restoration plan, the phases are being planned and contractors examined to be able to start with Phase1, felling snags, in November; Phase2, treating invasives, in December and January; and Phase3, planting the site, in February and March of 2013.
These processes and getting qualified contractors are not quite as easy as you might expect. The licensing of certain operators is reasonable complex. Timing will remain a major player in getting the phases completed in the best time of the year.
