Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dear Friends,

From time to time, we, as a nation, collectively pause to honor the people or events that helped shape our country’s history.

One of those days is the third Monday of January, which we have set aside to honor the legacy and teachings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King dedicated his life to making our society more equal and more inclusive for all Americans. And his legacy lives on in every man, woman and child who grows up believing that they can do anything they put their mind to, regardless of race, creed or color.

While our country has certainly come a long way since Dr. King led that historic march on Washington, there is still so much more that needs to be done. So, as we take a moment today to remember all that Dr. King taught us, let us renew our efforts to create the more just, tolerant and compassionate society that he envisioned for us all.

Sincerely,
