Among all of the racing activities that will be taking place during the Amelia Island Vintage Gran Prix event, held at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, March 19 and 20, 2016 there will be a host of 30 rare and very quick vintage racing motorcycles competing on the Historic 2.1 mile “Golden Crown Prix” course at the airport.

Yamaha is bring an ex-factory racing cycle and four time AMA National Champion Jamie James will be on board that bike throughout the weekend. Jamie James won the 750cc Superbike National Championship in 1989, as well as the 600 Superbikes, Battle of the Twins and on board the Yamaha 600 Supersport. He was also named the Suzuki Cup Champion twice and once each in the 750cc and 1100cc classes.

Spectators will not only be able to enjoy the vintage motorcycle racing, but also more than 150 incredible vintage racing sports cars competing against each other in 20 different races each day of the event.

More than dozen rare War Birds will be flying into the Fernandina Beach Airport for the Amelia Island Vintage Gran Prix event, some of which will perform fly overs and will be available to take spectators on flights over beautiful Amelia Island during Saturday and Sunday of the event.
