Y unites Northeast Florida communities through free livestream services to foster connection amidst stay-at-home orders

WHAT: The First Coast YMCA will hosts its first-ever Virtual Healthy Community Day to engage all ages across the First Coast in a full day of fun, healthy activities and hope for better days ahead. The entire community is invited to participate in this FREE event.

HOW: Activities for all ages will be live-streamed hourly on each of the Y’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok. The Y is partnering with First Coast businesses to offer participants the chance to win prizes and interact with celebrity guests during the day’s events, which include a virtual 5K, fitness classes, dance parties, family trivia, cooking demos and more. For more information on Virtual Healthy Community Day, visit here.

WHEN: Saturday, May 2, 2020; from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

WHY: Even though the coronavirus pandemic forced the First Coast YMCA to temporarily close all branches and suspend most programs and activities, the Y remains committed to strengthening the community. By hosting a virtual Healthy Community Day, the Y hopes to provide Northeast Florida residents an opportunity to stay connected with each other, beat boredom and have fun together, while safely apart.
