Dredging to remove 10,518 cubic yards of sludge from the Fernandina Harbor Marina is scheduled to be completed by April 23 in time for preparation for the annual Shrimp Festival scheduled for May 1, 2, and 3. Brance Diversified, Inc. is in charge of the operation.

According to Joe Springer, “. . . the dredged material is being transported in water tight trucks to the municipal airport where it is being staged for future use by the airport and the city.”

Where is the $8,000 Magic Mud Machine the city commissioned local gadfly Lynn Williams to build?

Its not there Dave because it never existed. A better queston is why the Fernandina Beach City Commission has never been held accountable for the misuse of of public funds. The Magical Mud Machine was nothing more than just another hoax by the then sitting City Commission to give our tax dollars to one of their political cronies. I suspect they are now just trying to run out the statute of limitations. Like most tax payers, I had hoped that the recently elected Commissioners would have demanded an independent investigation into this outrage. I am still waiting.
