Editor’s Note: When the pulp mills came to Fernandina in the 1930’s it was a happy time in Fernandina. Many local citizens who suffered greatly during the great depression, could now look forward to better days. Container was the original name of the paper mill now referred to as Rock-Tenn.

Interesting that the City of Fernandina served the “free lunch.”
