Baklava is just one of the items for sale at the Fernandina Beach Market Place.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will be open in historic Fernandina Saturday. North Seventh Street will be lined with a wide variety of seasonal produce, fresh baked breads, hot sauces, dips, dressings, granola, cheese straws, fresh garlic, and other naturally produced specialties like goat milk soaps and loofahs grown in Fernandina Beach.

We have wild-caught shrimp, scallops, Alaskan salmon, grass fed beef, pork and whole chickens. Check out Vegan Amelia who provide vegan baked goods. All of their products are completely vegan, home-made, and baked locally. Gana Pecans will be at the market with their bags of natural or flavored pecans, pecan oil, and hot boiled peanuts. Jaxma Orchids will be in the market, too, with expert advice on how to grow these beautiful plants. Of course, Everblooming Gardens will be on-site with their landscaping foundation plants, and Seven Trees Nursery will have their blooming baskets, herbs, and succulents. Bacon’s Select Produce is now bringing a limited supply of fantastic, fresh cut sunflowers, and Gypsy Microgreens will have her super-nutritional microgreens.

Our Booth with a Cause is Wild Amelia. They look forward to sharing their plans to combine their Annual Nature Festival with the Right Whale Festival coming this November. Wild Amelia is one of the premiere conservation organizations in northeast Florida, presenting nature education programs to the public at no cost. Stop by their booth Saturday and discover their nature programs such as the Junior Naturalist program, and the nature photo contest.

Light the Moon will be performing live music and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is open every Saturday of the year, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.

Our sister market, the Wildlight Market Place, is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 10:00 to 2:00, just east of I95, off of SR200 in the new Wildlight neighborhood. While you will find many of our farmers at this new market, too, you will also find other items such as Lynn’s Creations handcrafted dips in 24 different flavors, which include 16 savory and eight sweet flavors. Salty Girl Soaps are made by hand in small batches to ensure the highest quality. Each Essential oil used in the creation of their products is pure, undiluted, and therapeutic grade. Another vendor you will find in Wildlight is Hodges Homegrown Beef and Pork from Callahan. They raise grass-fed Hodges Cattle beef and a delectable Hodges Pastured Porkers free-range pork.

Both markets welcome your well-behaved, leashed pets. For more information visit FernandinaBeachMarketPlace.com or WildlightMarketPlace.com, both markets can be found on Facebook, too.

I used to go to the farmers market every week, but unfortunately, there is no place to park close by any longer.I have 2 bad knees and severe arthritis and walking 5 blocks carrying 2 bags of farm fresh vegetables has become difficult. Last time I went,I had to park behind the library.Maybe a shuttle bus would be a good idea for us seniors?
