Thoughts regarding the possible return of the $1.476,000 Forward Fernandina bank loan were expressed by Salty Pelican owner Al Waldis, in Jim Schoettler’s Florida Times Union article “Full house expected at Tuesday for Tuesday vote on Fernandina Forward’s future.

Suanne Z. Thamm, Reporter-News analyst for the Fernandina Observer,  reported on Monday night’s CRA Advisory Committee meeting when members voted 5 – 2 to address city commissioners on Tuesday evening regarding the return of funds.

Tonight’s regularly scheduled Fernandina Beach City Commission meeting will focus on an item placed on the commission agenda by newly elected Commissioner Pat Gass to return $1,476,000 of the Forward Fernandina loan.  Included in the $1,476,000 figure are funds for the recently approved City contribution to the library project.  Gass was the only commissioner who voted against funding the City library project.

The commission meeting will be held in the City of Fernandina Beach Commission Chambers and will begin at 6:00 p.m.  For those unable to attend the meeting can be viewed on Comcast channel 264 or via computer live streaming by clicking here.
