During August 2014, the city surveyed 210 building permits with a total valuation of $4.4M. This activity brought in $68K in fees for the city. Only two permits for new homes were issued. Permit activity was down in comparison to August 2013, when the city surveyed 243 permits (9 new residences), resulting in $154K in permit revenue. Year-to-date activity is also down in comparison to the same period last year. While during each year permits to construct 48 new residences were issued through August, in 2013 2042 total permits were surveyed, resulting in city revenue of $1.04M; while in 2014, 1899 permits have been surveyed to date, bringng the city $1.023M in permit fees.
