FEMA reimburses Fernandina Beach for Matthew storm clean up

Fernandina Beach City Manager Dale Martin has advised that just today — October 30, 2017 — the City received reimbursement for 2016 Hurricane Matthew-related storm debris removal:  $308,461.23 from the Federal Government (85%) and $27,217.16 (7.5%) from the State for a total of $335,678.39.

Martin wrote, “Special thanks and kudos to City Comptroller Patti Clifford and Fire Chief Ty Silcox for their oversight and efforts. Thank you also to the City’s elected officials and staff in Washington, D.C., Tallahassee, and Jacksonville for their assistance.”

Martin expressed optimism that more reimbursements will follow.
