By now, Nassau County registered voters should have received their sample ballots for the March 15, 2016 Presidential Preference Primary Election. Vicki Cannon, Nassau County Supervisor of Elections, advises that registered voters have three ways to cast ballots: by mail, early voting, or on March 15, Primary Election Day. If you have not registered to vote by now, you will not be eligible to vote in this election.

Vote By Mail

Any registered voter may vote by mail, no reason required. Ballots may be requested in person, online at www.VoteNassau.com, by phone, mail, fax or email at [email protected].   To vote by mail, you must provide your name, legal residence address and date of birth. If you want this ballot to be mailed to an address not on your voter record, you must also provide a written signature. The last day to request a ballot to be mailed for this election cycle is Wednesday, March 9, 2016 by 5:00 p.m.

Vote Early

Unlike Election Day, all registered Nassau County voters my vote at ANY of the four early voting sites. Early Voting is available from Friday, March 4, 2016 through Saturday, March 12, 2016 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. These are the Early Voting Polling stations:

Election Day Voting

Presidential Preference Primary Election Day is March 15, 2016. Polls will be open between 7:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. You must cast your ballot at your assigned polling place on Election Day, unlike Early Voting. If you do not know your assigned polling place, contact the Supervisor of Elections Office (904) 491-7500 or www.VoteNassau.com.

The Supervisor of Elections advises that if you choose to vote in person on Election Day or during Early Voting, you must present a current and valid photo identification along with a signature ID. Valid photo IDs are listed on the website. If you do not present the required ID at the polls, you may vote a provisional ballot.

A Voter Information Card may not be used as ID at the polls.

You may view your voter record by visiting www.VoteNassau.com and selecting My Voter Record. At that site you may:

  • Review/update your voter information
  • View your voter specific sample ballot
  • Check the status of your provisional ballot
  • Request a Vote by Mail ballot
  • Track your Vote by Mail ballot
  • Locate your polling place
  • Request a replacement voter card
