Dee Dee Bartels has published a new book containing poetry, art, and photographs of her time on the Island of Carriacou located in the southeastern Caribbean Sea.
After being captain and owner of a shrimp boat in Fernandina, a contract with the marine division of the Smithsonian led her to another island. Her love for the “untouched’ island of Carriacou and its people shines through in her poetry.
