Frugal Cachet at 11 North 3rd Street opened in September, according to owner, Marie DeSoto. Browse through the clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories, and collector’s items and you will be surprised at the variety of merchandise. De Soto, who had experience in the consignment field before opening this store felt that she really needed an “edge,” something that would set her shop apart from all the others in the area.
She really felt that she was more of a “recycling business” in these trying economic times, when she first opened a shop in Fernandina Beach in January 2010. Starting in May of 2012, she began placing her inventory on Ebay. Now, at the new store, she has over 400 items on Ebay and has big plans to expand her business.
