Communities In Schools of Nassau County

More than 200 children and adults participated in the 5th Annual Communities In Schools Beach Run on Saturday at Peter’s Point.

St. Michaels Academy placed first with the highest number of participants, winning $1000 to be used for student healthy lifestyles. Callahan Middle School won the $500 second place prize and Hilliard Middle-Senior-High School came in a close third.

The event was made possible with the assistance of Nassau County schools, more than 30 community volunteers, donations of food and water, and the generous donations from throughout the community of entry fees for youth runners, enabling every child to participate free of charge in this county-wide event.
