Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Nassau County Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Erosion currently taking place on south beach

Nassau County is under a  coastal flood advisory from 8 am Saturday until 2 pm.  According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, “tides will cause minor coastal flooding levels Saturday morning around the time of the astronomical high tide.”

Minor beach erosion will occur with rough seas and breakers ranging from 4 to 6 feet.  A rip current warning is also in effect.

Portions of the South Fletcher area are showing early signs of erosion today.
