City of Fernandina Beach

The City of Fernandina Beach has named Harvey T. Silcox (Ty) of Middleburg, Florida, as its next Fire Chief. The City received over twenty-five (25) applications for the position and conducted a thorough review and interview process to replace the current Fire Chief Pete Bergel.
Mr. Silcox has thirty (30) years’ experience in fire service and has served as the Fire Chief for the Town of Orange Park, Florida for the last thirteen (13) years. Mr. Silcox holds a Master in Public Administration degree from Barry College, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration degree from Flagler College and an Associate of Science in Emergency Medical degree from St. Johns River Community College. Additionally, he holds numerous certifications in the Fire and Rescue field. Mr. Silcox will assume the Fire Chief position effective August 17, 2015.
