City of Fernandina Beach Proclamation
WHEREAS, Dave Lott, appointed by the City Commission as Interim City Manager of the City of Fernandina Beach on February 7, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Dave Lott has also served as Interim Airport Manager since May 1,
2012; and
WHEREAS, during his time of employment with the City, he exhibited fabulous
communication skills and performed all of his duties with great diplomacy and tact and
managed the City in a highly capable, logical and efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, he saw the City through a devastating beach tragedy and a direct hit
by Tropical Storm Beryl. His presence was constantly known during these times; and
WHEREAS, Dave Lott has assisted immensely with compiling the upcoming and
challenging City budget; and
WHEREAS, his broad knowledge of the City (past and present) is both invaluable
and impressive; and
WHEREAS, Dave Lott’s care and compassion are evident in his 24-hour
dedication, great love for the City and respect for its citizens and City staff; and
WHEREAS, as a result of his sincere and conscientious efforts, the City of
Fernandina Beach has benefited from his four and a half (4 ½) months of service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of
Fernandina Beach, Florida, that sincere appreciation is hereby expressed for the loyal and
unselfish efforts exhibited by Dave Lott on behalf of the City of Fernandina Beach during
his tenure of service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Proclamation is presented as a
permanent matter of record in the proceedings of the City Commission as a testimonial of
our sincerest thanks to

Editor’s Note: Dave Lott deserves much praise and recognition for his four and half month tenure with the City of Fernandina Beach. He brought to the position years of business experience and years of experience as a volunteer on city boards.
Dave wisely spent most of his time as interim focusing on the city budget. During last Monday’s budget workshop, Dave’s presentation was impressive and it presented a clear picture of the many challenges our city will face during the upcoming budget discussions.
Well done Dave! We thank you for your outstanding service to our community.
