2019 Gathering of Women invites you to experience the Shalom of Christmas

To all the women of our community, here is a meaningful opportunity to commune with one another in God’s love and peace, especially in the busy season of Advent.

In its ninth year, the 2019 Annual Gathering of Women will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach on December 3rd, 2019 at 7pm. Organized annually for community women by women, the Gathering offers the ladies an opportunity to experience God’s peace before the busy holiday season begins, and to reflect on the meaning of Christmas together.

This year’s service will revolve around the ‘shalom’ of Christmas, with a message from Rev. Dr. Holly Inglis of Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach. We invite all women of this beloved community to explore what ‘shalom’ means for our families, churches, and the world.

Following the service, a dessert reception will be held in Jim Thomas Hall. There will also be a special opportunity after the service to give a love offering benefiting Micah’s Place, a certified Domestic Violence Center. Many victims of domestic violence are women. Serving survivors in Nassau County at no cost to them, Micah’s Place provides safety, support, prevention, intervention, education, and legal advocacy.

Rev. Dr. Holly Inglis is Associate Pastor for Community and Connection at Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach. Prior to being called to Palms in 2015, Holly’s been a Christian educator for over 20 years in PC(USA) churches in Indiana and Colorado. She was also elected President of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators in 2017.
