Calling All Quilt-Lovers, ‘Quilts by the Sea’ Is This Weekend

Raffle quilt to be offered at this year’s quilt show.

The Amelia Island Quilt Guild’s triennial quilt show, Quilts by the Sea, will be this Friday and Saturday, Feb.17 and 18. The show, at the Atlantic Recreation Center in Fernandina Beach, features more than 100 judged quilts in 15 categories.

There also will be a special exhibit, “Eight Flags Over Fernandina,” a fiber art exhibit showing quilters’ representation of the town’s unique history. The show, which attracts more than 1000 visitors, includes vendors, a silent auction, raffle baskets, and a raffle quilt to complete the fiber art experience for art and quilt lovers.

The cost of admission is $10. Parking is free. For more details, go to www.ameliaquilters.org.
