If you have any questions, concerns or fresh ideas about the Port of Fernandina Beach, your best opportunity to act on them comes up this evening.
A final port open house is being held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Peck Center, in the Willie Mae Ashley Auditorium at 516 S. 10th St. The port’s consultants who have helped build the new master plan will make a presentation, but their primary goal is to listen. The planners’ team will be out in force and listening carefully, just as they did at the first open house.
The Ocean Highway and Port Authority (OHPA) chair has stated in several meetings that if the public doesn’t want something in the plan, then they will take it out. Any changes will be incorporated next week and then the board will vote on the final plan.
Now is the time to let your voices be heard, but please do so in a respectful way.
Either the port stays or the port goes….period.
To stay it must grow and expand……..To go means an end-of-business plan,
Does it live or die?
