Deputies and Detectives searched relentlessly every day for any leads on the suspect(s). Several witnesses provided tips, such as descriptions of suspicious vehicles and people in the area. Based on intelligence developed from this investigation, deputies noticed a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on a tan 2003 Ford Focus, driven by Chris Morgan, 46, from Jacksonville on Saturday morning in Callahan, FL. Chris Morgan provided his identification and vehicle registration, but after deputies noticed that he was not from the area and that he had active warrants for burglary and dealing in stolen property, Morgan sped off. The suspect was pursued into Duval County where he eluded police, but not before his identity was obtained.

Morgan was recently released from the Department of Corrections in 2014 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He has an extensive history of burglary, narcotics and fleeing from law enforcement officers.

Morgan can be described as a white male, 46 years old, approximately 6’0 feet tall and 260 pounds. He has green eyes and is bald. He does have facial hair and has tattoos on both his arms. He is known to drive a tan 2003 Ford Focus with a Florida license plate number CPLQ48 or a 1997 gold Saturn S-Series with Florida tag DAVK80.

Nassau County Sheriff’s Office has obtained a warrant for his arrest.
