The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed to operate in our city last month. New local businesses appear below.
During August 2016, the city surveyed 338 permits, compared with 233 surveyed during August 2015. This activity brought the city $331,393 in fees. Permits were issued for 22 new buildings; all but one were residential. In August 2015, 3 permits were issued for new residential buildings and no new commercial buildings.
Building permits for the first 8 months of 2016 are running ahead of last year, 2,398 to 2,041.
