Arts & Culture Nassau holds Community Forum

Press Release
Arts and Culture Nassau & Community Forum
October 9, 2017 1:00 p.m.

The A&CN Community Forum that took place on September 23rd at the Atlantic Recreation Center was very well attended. We had upwards of 40 people participate in our Community Forum. Our purpose was twofold: 1) Educate the Arts Associations on Arts & Culture’s history and how the organization serves the Arts Community in Nassau County and 2) Promote the New Grant Program, funded by “State of the Arts” License Plate monies. When license plate is purchased, a portion of the fee is given to Nassau County to support Arts & Culture in Nassau benefiting ongoing youth programs…applications from 501(c)3 Arts organizations are available now and completed applications will be accepted between December 1 through January 15, 2018.

The morning was very successful — we brought 14 Art organizations and the public together. Each organization was able to display its literature to educate the public about each program and hand out event flyers showcasing what was happening on our Island involving the Arts Community. “Lots of questions were answered and a better understanding was gained by all attending,” said Fran Shea, Vice Chair of A&CN.
