Editor’s Note: Jim Ekstrom came to  Fernandina Beach a year ago from Exeter, New Hampshire after ending a 40 plus year teaching career as a biology teacher in the secondary schools.  Jim and his wife Rosalind, a Pilates instructor, enjoy kayaking, hiking, and taking RV trips to the southeast.  Jim’s particular interest is nature photography.  He is a member of the Island Art Association.

Editor’s Note:   Tim is on Amelia beaches most mornings as the sunrises to capture nature at its best.  This morning, September 30, 2012,  was an exceptional photo opportunity for Tim.  We are pleased Tim shared these amazing photos with us.

Three of Tim’s Master Digital Island Sunrise Prints will be auctioned today at Sliders Seaside Grill to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project.   They are not available for sale in any outlet and makes this is the only place they have been offered for sale to the public.

For about six months of the year I am “away” from the island….so, you can imagine how thrilling it is for me to see the glorious photos each morning …of the beach and the birds and the surf. Thank you all for sharing your passion with your photography. Also appreciating the editors views and the Reporters at Large. I’ll be back soon to the Island….Sandy
