Editor’s Note:  This photo was submitted by Viv Gotkin but “Jasmine” was a joint artistic endeavor.  The original artist is unknown but his or her work was noticed and appreciated by Viv.  The elements took  its toll on the mermaid, so Viv helped put the form back in shape, replaced and added shells, a face and extra hair.  The name “Jasmine” is in honor of the location of the artwork around access #9  at Jasmine and Fletcher.

Viv and her husband Josh are homeowners and part time residents, and look forward to retiring to Fernandina Beach in a few years. Thank you Viv for your contribution!
