Amelia Island Opera (AIO), an artist-led company, is excited to announce its inaugural concerts in August 2021. The organization was founded by opera singers John Tibbetts II and Robyn Marie Lamp. The two met during the COVID-19 pandemic and began brainstorming ways to bring more classical vocal music to the area. AIO was born from a need for these singers to create opportunities for themselves and a desire to bring more classical vocal music to this community. AIO strives to enrich the cultural fabric of the greater Amelia Island community, elevate the voices of world-class and emerging artists, and explore alternative mediums of performance.

Amelia Island Opera’s first public offering will be a series of concerts in August 2021. Tibbetts and Lamp intend these concerts way to introduce the community to the opera company and begin building an audience. Each concert will feature an array of tunes, from popular operatic arias and musical theater hits to art songs and golden age standards.
