Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau Wins Six Statewide Awards for Outstanding Tourism Marketing

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2021) – During the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism (Sept. 8-10) in Hollywood, Florida, the Amelia Island Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) won a total of six awards for outstanding tourism marketing in the 2021 Flagler Awards. The CVB took top honors in the Resource/Promotional Material-Trade category, accepting a coveted Henry Award during the ceremony, Wednesday, Sept. 8, at The Diplomat Beach Resort. The CVB also won Silver Awards in the Radio Advertising and Website categories, and Bronze Awards in Creativity in Public Relations, Direct Marketing, and Out-of-Home.

“Like so many of our colleagues across the state, our team was asked to do the impossible last year, working to maintain an effective, comprehensive marketing strategy with reduced budgets, under challenging restrictions, and in the most wildly unpredictable environment imaginable,” said Gil Langley, president and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB. “I’m very proud to see the team’s work recognized among the best in Florida, and the way they and our industry partners continue to find ways to help sustain this community’s most vital industry.”

The CVB won a Henry Award for its “Meet Amelia Island” meetings campaign (Resource/Promotional Material-Trade), along with Silver Awards for the CVB’s “Amelia Island Escape Podcast (Radio Advertising) and the relaunch of AmeliaIsland.com (Websites). The organization also won three Bronze Awards for the “Black History Month Virtual Fam Tour” (Creativity in Public Relations), “Amelia Island Email Optimization (Direct Marketing), and “Innovative Outdoor Displays during the Pandemic (Out-of-Home). The CVB has won at least one Henry Award for eight consecutive years.

As the state’s annual tourism marketing competition, the Flagler Awards recognize Florida’s travel businesses and organizations that demonstrate outstanding tourism marketing efforts. Each year, the Flagler Awards honor many of the countless individuals and organizations that help position Florida as a premier travel destination and pay tribute to the determined efforts of those who help ensure the continued success of the state’s most important industry.
