Amelia Community Choir to participate in Good Friday Service at Amelia Baptist Church

The community is invited to Amelia Baptist Church on Good Friday, April 15th, at 4:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. for a special Good Friday service. These events have become an annual Holy Week tradition and have been well attended since their inception in 2005.

Pam Helton, Director of the Amelia Community Choir, has selected inspiring music for quartets, soloists, and 50 voice choir. “We are looking forward to sharing these classical anthems, traditional hymns, and contemporary hymns with our community this year. These songs clearly convey God’s love revealed on the Cross, and the musical settings speak to the heart.” said Mrs. Helton.

This special Good Friday service will feature scripture narrations, under the direction of Peggy Strickland, from the Gospels that portray the hours prior to the crucifixion of Christ. The talented, professional instrumentalists who will play are Gail McCamy, piano, and Joe Henderson, violin.

This special Tenebrae service is a gift to our community.

Amelia Baptist Church is located at 961167 Buccaneer Trail, which is at the intersection of Buccaneer Trail, A1A, and South Fletcher Avenue (at the roundabout).
