“Valhalla” for beached boat

Today, a boat that was intentionally beached several days ago after the operator hit an obstacle in the water, was rescued by a boat salvage company west of the south jetties. The “Valhalla”s” homeport is Fernandina Beach. A witness to the operation said the boat, after striking an object, developed a hole in the starboard bow (see plywood patch visible in dark blue lower section of boat). The operator then elected to purposely beach the Valhalla. It is unclear if ropes seen in the props contributed to the event.

Great pics and story Mike. Yes, rope wound around the propeller drive shaft isn’t a good thing
