Editor’s Note:  A “Vigil of Lament and Hope” was held Sunday afternoon on the front steps of Memorial United Methodist Church in  Fernandina Beach.  Pastor Charlie, the Senior Pastor of MUMC, said the idea for the gathering was born after concern over the shooting death of Brunswick area resident Ahmaud Arbery and moved forward after another tragic death of George Floyd in Minnesota   Ministers from Trinity Methodist Church, AME Church lead the effort with support from St Peter’s Episcopal Church, and First Presbyterian.
