On November 13, Front Porch Beads donated $2000 to the Interfaith Dinner Network, a wonderful organization which serves dinners to the hungry out of the Salvation Army’s Hope House in Fernandina Beach.

This charity effort began when a small group of enthusiastic beaders started getting together to make jewelry on a front porch here on Amelia Island a couple of years ago. Their plan was to sell our jewelry and see if they could raise $1000 for Micah’s Place, which helps victims of domestic abuse. After their first donation back in March 2019, the Front Porch Beads group grew, and the donations continued.

Including this most recent donation, the group has now given $8000 to local charities, including Take Stock In Children, Arts Alive, Council On Aging, Starting Point, and Gracie’s Kitchen.

So many talented, good-hearted folks on our island. Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of others!
